Artist Statement

In my artwork, I use surrealism to depict dreamlike imagery and anthropomorphic portraiture.
Primarily working in drawing, I explore the intrigue of form and figure.

Fascinated with the mystique of iconic beauty and perfection, my subjects frequently include Classic Hollywood stars. Enchanted by the glow and ambiguity of their portraits, I find myself captivated by their immaculate beauty.

Using automatism and collage I develop my drawings. Often juxtaposing recognizable figures with animals, patterns or objects that highlight a broader allure. A familiar dreamscape becomes the backdrop for my subjects.

In my artwork, I meditate on the vastness and volatility beyond the constructed persona.
My hope is to highlight the space incarnated as figurative beauty.
